Scott Willoughby

Background and Education


Scott Willoughby was born and raised in Independence, MO, a suburb of Kansas City, where he excelled in both sports and education. Graduating high school with a 4.0 average and numerous sports scholorships. He elected to join the Army instead.


Military Career


Scott enlisted in the Army with a goal of joining the 82nd Airborne Division. He achieved this goal and was stationed at Fort Bragg. NC. After 3 years as an 11B infantryman in the 82nd Airborne Scott was recruited to join the Special Operations Command. After successfully completing training he was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group (Green Berets) at Fort Bragg. Scott is a graduate of the Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Course. His awards include the Expert Infantry Badge, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Purple Heart (awarded for wounds due to direct enemy action).


Business and Entrepreneurship

Upon separating from the Army Scott pursued a career in Golf. After several years on the PGA Tour he decided a career as a custom home builder better fit his abilities and needs. Scott established Willoughby Custom Homes, Inc where he built over 350 homes and developed several sub-divisions. During the downturn in home sales in 2009, he co- founded Metro57 Property Solutions, LLC, a successful construction company serving the apartment industry. In 2017, Metro57 was sold to Scott's partner to facilitate a more dedicated focus for both.CommunityScott also gives back to his community. He is aboard member for the Undaunted Warhorse Initiative, a Not for Profit assisting under-served veterans with a hand up for verification status and entitlements, housing, and employment opportunities and education in varying industries. He has served as the President of St. Michaels Outreach, a Not for Profit organization that fed Dallas area homeless men and women for 12 years. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
