Jamie Bunetto

Jamie Bunetto is a retired United States Marine Corps Master Sergeant and retired Texas police officer whose career reflects more than three decades of military service, public safety, and continued service to the veteran community.

Jamie enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1989, beginning his career as a motor transport mechanic before transitioning into military intelligence. As an Intelligence Specialist and senior enlisted leader, he served in numerous assignments throughout the United States and overseas. His combat service included Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Ramadi, Iraq, with 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines in 2004, service as a senior enlisted advisor with a Military Transition Team in Iraq from 2006 to 2007, and deployment to Afghanistan with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2008. He also participated in humanitarian operations in Haiti in 2010.

Jamie retired from the Marine Corps in 2013 at the rank of Master Sergeant. His military decorations include the Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat “V,” Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat “V,” and two Combat Action Ribbons, among numerous other awards.

Jamie also dedicated many years to law enforcement. He served with the Lubbock Police Department, where he was a member of the SWAT team, and later served with the Sherman Police Department as both a patrol officer and detective. He concluded his law-enforcement career with the Anna Police Department. Throughout his police service, Jamie handled complex criminal investigations, critical incidents, and some of the most difficult situations faced by law-enforcement officers.

His commitment to service continues through leadership roles in three veteran-focused nonprofit organizations. Jamie serves as Vice President of the DFW Veterans Chamber of Commerce, which supports veterans, transitioning service members, and military families through business development, employment, education, and professional networking. He also serves as Secretary of Mission Ready, an organization dedicated to meeting the essential needs of active-duty military members, veterans, and their families. In addition, he is a board member of the Undaunted Warhorse Initiative, which assists veterans facing hardship through mentorship, employment pathways, transitional housing, and community support.
